Longtime Pennsylvania State Representative, Tarik Khan, will speak at the Rotary Club of Chestnut Hill’s breakfast program on May 15, 7:30 a.m. Center on the Hill, 8855 Germantown Avenue, Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill. The public is invited to attend the meeting which will include a short question and answer session.

Now those are good trivia questions, aren't they? And so timely since our trivia contest will be the evening before this year's Mother's Day.

One of Chestnut Hill Rotary's partner schools, J.S. Jenks Academy for the Arts and Sciences, received the prestigious Lindback Award, recognizing their International Baccalaureate Program.

The award was given to honor Principal Corrine Scioli, also a Chestnut Hill Rotary member, for exceptional leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the school's community. Scioli was only one of seven school principals in the School District of Philadelphia to receive this recognition, which comes with a $20,000 to support programs of their choice. 

Chestnut Hill Rotary members Jay Pennie and Chris Spolsky and her husband, Tom Uzzell, attended the 2024 Scholarship Awards Dinner on Thursday evening at the Williamson College of the Trades. The celebration dinner brought together over 100 attendees including teachers, faculty, board and school administration with student recipients of scholarships to thank donors for their support.

This year’s edition of March Madness was certainly filled with excitement and upsets. A number of our members had an emotional attachment to Mississippi state and flamed out early when the team could not move forward in the brackets.  Then an early upset of Kentucky sent others to the sidelines.

The Rotary Club of Chestnut Hill continues its extensive outreach in the community by recently awarding grants to more than 20 local and international organizations that fall within several of Rotary International’s areas of focus: supporting education, improving local communities, disaster response and fighting disease, saving mothers and children, and protecting the environment.

Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace, a seasoned member of the police force with more than 20 years of service, is slated to speak at the Chestnut Hill Rotary Club's breakfast meeting. The event is scheduled for Feb. 28 at 7:30 am, at the Center on the Hill, located at 8855 Germantown Ave. within the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill. This engagement is open to the public and will feature a presentation titled “Crime in the City,” specifically focusing on the issue of violent crime in Philadelphia and the challenges it poses to law enforcement.

Rotaplast International, Inc. helps children and families worldwide by eliminating the burden of cleft lip and/or palate, burn scarring, and other deformities. Working with local professionals, Rotarians, and other organizations, the organization sends multidisciplinary medical teams to provide free reconstructive surgery, ancillary treatment, and training for the comprehensive care of these children.
