Now those are good trivia questions, aren't they? And so timely since our trivia contest will be the evening before this year's Mother's Day.
Now, we wouldn't advocate you waiting until the last minute to get your mother a present, but think of the added bonus of winning the Chestnut Hill Rotary Club's Trivia Fundraiser and having a little extra cash in your pocket to pay for a little something extra for Mom. Or being the recipient of one of the gift baskets that will be at the trivia contest and take all sorts of gardening stuff, wine or gift cards to Chestnut Hill establishments as a little extra for Mom. You could even win the beer basket and give it to Mom if she is a sport and likes a cold one or two.
So we would say that attending the Chestnut Hill Rotary's trivia fundraiser is an excellent use of your time on the evening of May 11. The event will occur at the parish hall of St. Paul's church in Chestnut Hill. Just enter the door nearest Chestnut Hill Avenue.
Your admission fee to the event will go toward supporting all the charities that the Chestnut Hill Rotary funds, including Face to Face Germantown, Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels and Prevention Point Philadelphia in Kensington.
To reserve your spot at Trivia, just go to the website chestnuthillrotary.org/trivia-night and follow the prompts. All the information is there about the contest, the gift baskets, food and beverages and anything else you may want to know.
Except, of course, the answers to the trivia questions. That requires something you'll have to provide. Your wealth of knowledge.
But here's a hint. It was Anna Reeves Jarvis who is credited with starting Mother's Day in 1908. And she hailed from none other than Philadelphia, PA. She had a little help from John Wanamaker who held Mother's Day events at his stores that first year.
We'll see you there!
All the best,
Your friends at Chestnut Hill Rotary
