Beef Cattlemen Object To "Lobster Fest" Name

The Beef Cattle Association held a press conference today to protest the name “Lobster Fest” for the Chestnut Hill Rotary’s Annual fundraiser.

“That gives zero awareness to the fact that there is a steak option for people who are not shellfish lovers.”  Hoss Sirloin, executive director of the Beef Cattle  association went on to say, “I don’t see any reason why they can’t call it “Lobster and Steak Fest’.  “ I mean we don’t even need to be the first protein named. We just want to be recognized for what we offer.”  Sirloin noted that this may appeal to some Rotary members.  “Andy Sears is a member and he is from Georgia.  What do they know about Lobsters?  You can’t even barbecue the darn things.”

Sirloin went on to show that he meant business.  “We are very close to the Dairy Association” stated Sirloin.  “Just imagine if they boycotted with us.  You’ll be eating your lobster with no butter!”

Rotary president Ellen Williams is considering their proposal.  “Perhaps if the Beef Cattle Association were to join Chestnut Hill Hospital and others to sponsor the event, we would give it more consideration. There are sponsorships open but we want area businesses to sponsor us first. But right now it’s the lobster tail wagging the cow.”

Whether you prefer lobster or beef, Lobsterfest is the place for you.  Join us on September 23 for a great evening of food and fun. Details and reservations at ChestnutHillRotary.org/lobster-fest
