Amanda Steinberg, publisher of the Daily Worth, a website giving information on “helping women earn more, save more, and spend smarter”, now has over 1 million subscribers. Before starting her website, Amanda ran into roadblocks from traditional brokerages, who work with the attitudes of “women are not interested in money”, and “women are too high maintenance” (www.dailyworth.com). In addition to the information on the website, Amanda has now started her own brokerage, located in Chestnut Hill, which currently works only through the Internet. So far the target group is relatively well-educated, with a decent to good income, but a group that needs to know how to build wealth. Amanda has recently published a book entitled Worth It: Your Life, Your Money, Your Terms, which redefines the relationship between women, self-worth, and money. The book shows women how to view money as a source of personal power and freedom, and to live life on their terms.
